Description

The African Lily comes from South Africa and occupies open grasslands and rocky places , we should therefore consider a similar situation in the garden: full sun, mineral rich soil more on the heavy side and not too wet. Many of the large evergreen species did not survive the recent very cold Winters, note the ones that loose their foliage are generally far more hardy. Ours are all grow outdoors in pots and remain unprotected through the Winter. Kniphofia, Dierama, Acanthus, Libertia. A lower growing Agapanthus with strap-shaped deep green leaves and clusters of trumpet-shaped, deep blue flowers.
