G. phaeum generally form clumps of of very attractive mottled foliage above which a flurry of reflexed flowers appear It is useful for planting in drifts under trees and shrubs, tolerates dry shade, cut back after flowering and new fresh leaves will appear. Plant with Chaerophyllum hirsutum Roseum or Anthriscus, good for filling the empty space around Spring bulbs.
