Sanguisorba off. Red Thunder

Description

Sanguisorba are perennials with attractive, pinnate leaves and branched stems bearing terminal spikes of small fluffy bottlebrush-like flowers. Good in flower borders with ornamental grasses or in a prairie planting. Happiest in a sunny border where the soil stays moist.
Red Thunder was selected by Piet Outdolf by its deep red bobbles and taller and stiffer stems and has a superb silhouette in winter light.
