WUERZBURG GARDEN

One of our very early gardens started in 1995 is always a pleasure to visit just to see how the planting has evolved and how natural materials have aged beautifully with very little human intervention. Large natural limestone rocks were initially used to bridge levels, create a sense of drama and a foundation that connected the garden with the natural stone walls of the house. The planting scheme was carefully composed to suit the location: heavy limey soil, hot and dry summers and long cold winters. Now after over 20 years trees and shrubs have matured and many of the originally planted perennials are still thriving in what is now a well balanced plant community.
