SHADE, LIGHT AND TEXTURE

As our trees and shrubs develop it is inevitable that our gardens become more and more shady. Gardening in the shade is exciting, with more emphasis on form, texture, light, contrasts and subtle colour. We have to learn to define all the variations of shade, from dark to dappled, damp to dry, deciduous or evergreen, then we select groups of plants that suit these conditions and let them mingle with each other.
