Description
A clumping or slowly spreading late-season deciduous grass native to sandy soils along the east coast of the United States from Connecticut to Florida. It produces arching clumps of coarsely textured blue-green foliage and arching sprays of coppery flowers from late summer. Like all switch grasses it needs heat to get going and is a staple of the late-summer grass boarder with interest into winter. Best in lean free-draining soil in sun.
