Butcher’s broom is a tough spiky evergreen sub-shrub which can grow in deep shade and drier soils and root pressure. A fine textural plant for under trees and shrubs where other plants struggle. Small white flowers can be missed but red autumn berries where male and female plants are present are very showy.
