What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact forms

If you fill in our contact form then your name, email address and any information you provide will be sent using a secure mail transfer protocol to our email inbox. Old emails are deleted manually but we may keep a copy of your email for an indefinite amount of time.

Orders

If you place an order then your personal details, including: name, address and phone number, will be both stored in our database and emailed to our administrators. These details are used for the purpose of fulfilling your order and making it easy for you to order again in the future. We may keep these details in our database for an indefinite amount of time but you can request that we erase them.

Cookies

Our site does not currently use any cookies to track or monitor your behaviour. This may change if we decide to embed videos into some of our webpages. For example, any YouTube videos on our site may install or connect cookies to YouTube account.

Analytics

We currently do not have any analytical tools installed on our website.

Log Files

mountvenusnursery.com follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

Who we share your information with

Mailchimp

We use Mailchimp for our newsletters. Occasionally you may see a Mailchimp popup that will request your email address. Please be aware that if you fill this in then your email address will be added to our Mailchimp subscribers list. You may unsubscribe from our Mailchimp newsletters at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any electronic newsletters that you received from us.

We may also add your email address to our Mailchimp manually, if you have previously placed an order with us. This is inline with GDPR rules and regulations as indicated here. You may opt-out of our newsletter emails at any time.

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

• The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
