syn. Zigadenus elegans. A bulbous perennial in the Trillium family, Melanthiaceae, native to large parts of the United States and Canada on rocky slopes and forest margins in sun. Commonly known as Mountain Death Camas both for its resemblance to Camassia and its high toxicity in all parts ! Strappy green foliage. Outward facing cream-white flowers with green centres in airy panicles in summer. Sun and good drainage. Ideal for the alpine rock garden or container in a sunny position.
