Panicum virgatum Thundercloud

Description

The switch grasses are among the finest late-season grasses, requiring heat to get moving but getting better and better from mid- to late summer and still looking good right through winter. Panicum Thundercloud has strappy grey-green foliage and a strongly upright habit. The mass of tiny flowers have a purple hue which extends to the foliage as the weather gets colder. The whole mass turns to caramel colours in winter and will stand up to wind and snow until you cut it back in spring.
