Penstemons are very useful long flowering perennials producing a real slash of colour through all of Summer. often not very long lived and getting a bit woody after Winter, you should take Summer cuttings for the following year. They like to grow in fresh ground. P. Alice Hindley is an upright plant with long stems of large, lilac, trumpet shaped flowers with white insides.
