Penstemon digitalis Pocahontas

Description

Semi-evegreen perennial with dark red stems and red-flushed foliage. Upright heads of lilac flowers in summer last for a long time. Penstemon are tough plants which can be short-lived in rich or heavy soils but do very well in sunny free-draining sites where they can flower all summer.
