Strobilanthes penstemonoides

Description

Stobilanthes are valuable late flowering perennials which will tolerate shade, the beautiful translucent pale purple-blue flowers glow in the dappled shade as they cover this low mound forming plant. Grows easily enough in any soil, enjoys moisture but can equally tolerate drought.

S. penstemonoides is a more unusual species bearing purple-blue flowers in late summer and autumn on a branching plant.
