Podophyllum hexandrum

Description

Early Spring brown-red shoots push up out of the ground and open up like umbrellas, usually nicely mottled, covering a translucent rose pink cup shaped flower, which later turns into a large bright red fruit. Relatively easy to grow in the right conditions in dappled shade and in woodland compost.
